Hoot
Roy moved from Montana to Florida because his dad works for the government and they move from one place to another cause of his father’s work. One day on the bus, Roy saw a boy running without shoes on the sidewalk while Dana Motherson was mushing his face to the bus’s window. That was the start of Roy’s adventure in Florida. When Roy founds the reason Mullet Fingers kept causing mess in the construction site he joined him because he found out that the mother paula's pancake house were trying to burry the owls den which was inhuman thing to do to an animal. So, the theme for this message is that you can make a difference if you stood up for the right thing and for yourself. Roy showed leadership, determination, and courage throughout the story.
Roy showed leadership when he heard that Mother Paula’s pancake house are going to bury the owls den with the owls and their owlets inside. When Roy went to Coconut Cove city hall to find the file about Mother Paula’s property site, the file was checked out and Roy knew that the mother paula's pancake house were planing to destroy the owls dens without the authority of the government.”and it was illegal to harm the birds or disturb active burrows without getting the special government permits.” This text evidence tells how illegal it was to bury the burrows. So Roy showed leadership when he stood up against chuckle muckle when he tried to get Mullet Fingers out of the owls den. Everyone linked their arms around him to form a barrier around Mullet Fingers.”Roy watched in wonderment as more and more kids slipped out of the crowd and began joining hands, forming a human barricade around beatrice’s self-buried brother.” This text shows how Roy showed everyone the way a leader would’ve done at that moment.
He was determined to prove that Mother Paula’s All-American Pancake House were hiding the truth that there are owls dens at the property and it was against the law to destroy the burrowing owls den. When he found out that the Mother Paula’s property site file was checked out, he knew that mother paula’s was up to something. So he asked Mullet Finger to take picture of the owls as a proof to support their claim.”if you get a picture of one of the birds, we can stop the pancake people from bulldozing that lot. Mother Paula’s permit file is missing from city hall. what does that tell you?” This shows how determine Roy was to prove that the mother paula’s are doing something illegal.
Roy stood up against Dana motherson’s sick action by taking the courage to tell him to back off or leave him alone. On page 168-169, it talks about Roy’s couraging about going to Dana’s house and telling him to stop bullying him. “All you had to do was leave me alone. Put a stop to all this dump fighting.” Roy did something that other targets of bullies would’ve not done. Other targets of bullies wouldn’t gather that much of couraginess to go to their bullies house and tell them to stop bullying because they’re too afraid to even say a thing to them or talk to them.
